Acne and pimples are a cause of concern for many people. Instead of rushing to torture your skin with harmful chemicals, here are some natural solutions that you should try first.
1. Egg Whites
Egg whites are useful in making facial masks. These facial masks lower the amount of discoloration on the skin, which is the main cause of acne.
The most effective way of using face masks made of egg white is to first beat the egg and add lemon juice to the foam. The lemon juice helps in loosening whiteheads and blackheads in the egg whites.
Avoid using egg yolks in this treatment. Egg yolks may contain bacteria which will harm your skin further.
2. Papaya
Papaya is useful in treating acne and preventing outbreaks of acne and pimples in future. The main ingredient in papaya is the papain enzyme. It is a proteolytic enzyme.
It is not just the fruit which is rich in this enzyme. The seeds, leaves and skin are also full of these enzymes which contain preventive and restorative properties.
When using papaya to treat acne and pimples, mash the fruit thoroughly to form a smooth paste. Apply this paste abundantly on the affected areas.
After about 15 minutes, the paste should have dried. Wash your face with cold water.
3. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil can be obtained from distilling the tea tree’s leaves. It may seem ironic that you are using a product which contains a lot of oil to treat a problem caused by a lot of oil.
However, research has shown that tea tree oil heals acne the same way benzoyl peroxide heals acne and, what’s more, it has less side effects.
Some people have complained of experiencing irritations on their skins from using tree oil, you will therefore need to perform a test on your skin before using this treatment. Wash your skin thoroughly and soak a cotton swab in tea tree oil.
Apply this on areas of your skin that have the acne and pimples. Do this every morning and evening.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is important in treating pimples and acne because it has antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties. These properties are important in killing bacteria which causes acne.
It also has anti-inflammatory properties which prevent swelling on areas of the skin that have acne. Dip a cotton swab into apple cider vinegar and dab it onto the areas that are affected with acne and pimples.
Leave this to dry and wash it all off with clean water. Do this every day until your skin is completely healed.
5. Strawberries
Antioxidants are very important in curing acne and pimples. Strawberries are very rich in antioxidants.
Antioxidants work by preventing sebum from oxidizing. Eat strawberries regular to enrich your body with antioxidants and treat acne and pimples.
6. Banana Peels
Banana peels are the cheapest remedy in acne and pimple treatment. Banana peels contain a lot of starch which is important in drying out excess oil from the skin.
Banana peels also contain antimicrobial and antiseptic properties. These help in killing the fungus or bacteria which cause inflammation.
Take a ripe banana’s skin and cut it into tiny little pieces. Rub the inner part of the peel onto the affected areas. Do this until the inside part turns brown. This brown is the dirt from the acne.
