Choose the right carbs. Simple carbohydrates, such as sugar and flour, are quickly absorbed by the digestive system. This causes too much carbohydrate in your body and your body then secretes a large amount of insulin to fight that excess. Eat these foods in moderation. Complex carbohydrates are slowly digested. It is complete flour, solid vegetables, oats and unprocessed cereals such as whole rice. These foods are usually very rich in vitamins and other nutrients that are good for your health and are also very high in fiber, which helps your digestive system function properly.

Eat green leafy vegetables like kale, cabbage, brown mustard and chard. These vegetables are packed with nutrients and will satiate you very quickly. Make them jump quickly with olive oil, garlic, a little salt and pepper and you will have a delicious and nourishing meal.

Choose whole bread rather than white bread and whole pasta instead of “normal” pasta. It is harder for the body to extract nutrients from processed carbohydrates, such as those found in white bread, and these are therefore empty calories.
